High White count: It sounds like you had an abscess, which are not uncommon in the underarm area. A high white count may sometimes be associated, but may be a separate issue. Treatment for the abscess is incision and drainage. Fever, high white count and signs of septicemia may mean antibiotics would be indicated as well, but if related to your abscess the white count should return to normal after drainage.
