Difficult diagnosis: If it involves numbness, I would recommend getting an EMG test to see if there is a nerve involved. It could be a focal seizure, and seeing a doctor could help tease that out. They might order an EEG. Another possibility is an atypical migraine. Multiple sclerosis is another possibility. The shoulder should be looked at as a source of the pain as well.
