Not cause: Can transiently worsen glucose tolerance. Won't "give you diabetes" though.

No: Cortisone in itself does not cause diabetes. It can cause an elevation of the blood sugar and should not be overused and used with caution in diabetics. I usually recommend that my diabetic patients who I am injecting with cortisone get on an especially low carb diet for a couple of weeks to counteract the blood sugar effect. Do not worry about 1 shot.
