Weak, Heavy Periods: Excessive menstrual blood loss can lead to anemia. Some individuals bleed so heavily that over time, their hemoglobin levels can become dangerously low. Start a multivitamin if you're not already on one, and add supplemental iron 325mg 2x/day or more if recommended by your md. Add a stool softener because iron is constipating. Increase oral fluid intake.
