Healthy lifestyle: Normal kids who get hormone injections just get to their final height quicker, it would not add to final height.Your son's projected height based on parent height is 5'8".A health pattern of diet, exercise and rest should allow him to reach this point. His height is located at ~10% for age and an xray of his wrist and hand can verify his potential for more growth.Discuss with his doc to be sure.

Growth height: Apart from genetics ultimate height achieved is affected by good nutrition and exercise involving stretching use of growth hormone in short stature with normal levels is very controversial.

It depends: Results depend upon the stage of cancer. It is active for the adjuvant treatment and in metastatic disease. The side effects can include nausea and diarrhea. Occasionally there can be some blood count issues. The other side effect can be cold related temporary nerve injury that lasts a very short time. There also is a more long term nerve injury. Most people do tolerate this well. Hope this helps.

My 11 year old son cut his shin open on a piece of metal, does not need stitches, we can't remember when his last tetnus shot was, what are symptoms to look for ? Thank you.

Things to consider. : Your son is 11 years of age and he is due to have a tetanus booster at this age. As for the shin cut, hopefully it was cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and treated with an antibiotic ointment. The best thing to do is to schedule an appointment with his pediatrician or family physician to get his shot and check on his cut.

A 44-year-old male asked:

If I had a body scan today, when can I restart taking my hormone medicine?

Dr. Vance Harris

Depends on hormones : I think that would depend on the type of hormone you are talking about and the scan you had. If you didnt get instructions then check with your doctor first. Did you have a thyroid scan? Was it a bone scan or a density scan?
