Depends: On the 82 yo & the fracture site. A healthy one with a non-displaced, simple fracture of a finger on the non-dominant hand shouldn't have any more trouble with it than anyone else. At any age, a fracture of the femur (hip bone) will cause significant issues. In general, older people heal more slowly & are more likely to have complications than younger ones.
