Lymph Nodes: Lymph vessels route the fluid through nodes that are located throughout the body. Lymph nodes are small structures that work as filters for harmful substances. They contain immune cells that can attack and destroy germs in the lymph fluid to help fight infection.Swollen lymph nodes are usually do to an exposure to a bacteria or virus. Hope this helped :].

yes we all do...: These are usually less than a centimeter in size and cannot be felt. Some people have reactive lymph nodes which can be felt on both sides of the neck . However one or more large lymph nodes could be a sign of infection or cancer and should be checked by a physician. At your age cancer is less likely but if enlarged lymph nodes persist you should be seen by a doctor.
