No need to stop : If Clonazepam is helpful, there's absolutely no need to be stopping it provided that you are not increasing the dose on your own or abusing it anyway. At any rate, if the Clonazepam is going to be stopped, it should be done extremely slowly and spread over months. I don't know what dose you run now but a typical taper in my practice could take over six months. The real problem is how to control your anxiety with another class of medication and that is something that your psychiatrist is going to have to explain to you. If you are unhappy with the psychiatrist that you have then seek out a second opinion.
