YES: It is always ideal to get nutrients from our diet but most people don't get optimal nutrition from diet. There is evidence that levels of vitamins above the recommended amounts have benefits and can help prevent heart disease, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, osteoporosis etc. Some multis are much better than others. No: Your body is like a four wheel car. If you have 3 wheels, it's great to add one. If you have all 4 wheels, adding more wheels serves no purpose. The same is true with essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, fatty and amino acids. Once your body has enough, adding more serves no purpose other than to enrich the people who sold it to you. Get what you need from whole foods and skip the pills.
