tinnitus: The upper portion of the lower jaw ( condyle of the mandible) is in close proximity to the temporal bone which contains the ear. If the condyle is pushing up against the temporal bone, that can cause tinnitus. Also, if the muscles of the area are in spasm because of a misalignment, they can cause a pull on the components of the ear causing the noise as well.

Tinnitus: Tinnitus or ringing in the ears may be related to a number of different causes. Tmj disorders as well as problematic wisdom teeth can certainly contribute to the tinnitus as well as a number of inner ear problems. An ENT specialist can advise you if the problem is an inner ear problem and refer you to a dentist if the problem is not inner ear related.
