I have had tinnitus since the age of 12 also diagnosed with tmj. rencently, my doctor confirmed fluid behind eardrum. can fluid increase tinnitus?

Yes: Consult your md asap for fluid behind your eardrum. Ringing in your ears can be a caused by many things and this needs to be diagnosed by your physician. Unlikely related to tempro mandibular joint disorder. However the jaw joint and ear are so closely related anatomically they are frequently associated by patients. Suggest consult with md for cause of said fluid behind ear. Hope this helps.

Yes: Definitely. However if you've had tinnitus since age 12, it's unlikely that treating the fluid will eliminate the tinnitus. Tinnitus also related to TMJ.
