A member asked:

If person has "bilateral renal cysts", does that mean it's cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: "bilateral renal cysts" means that both kidneys (right and left) contain cysts. While some kidney cancers may be cystic, most renal cysts are benign. It would be good to ask the doctor who ordered the imaging study that found the renal cysts what he/she thinks of these cysts and the likelihood that they might be cancer. Every case is unique. Hope that this helps.
