A 46-year-old female asked:

what is a t1 htperintense right lower pole renal lesion most likely 1cm complex cyst scanhave repeat 6mths. kidney cancer runs family could be cancer?

Cyst in kidney: Right now the 1 cm cyst looks pretty small and benign. However it could turn into something solid or can get larger. 6 months is a good time to repeat it. If it looks the same in 6 months then it probably is not malignant or even if it is a cancer, it probably is slow growing and less likely to be aggressive.

What kind of impact does stress have on breast cancer?

Dr. Ritesh Rathore

Very Important: There is no link between stress and development of breast cancer. Stress can adversely affect a womans' ability to undergo complex and lengthy breast cancer treatment- this in turn can lead to inferior results. Patients without psychosocial support for stress can develop problems such as ptsd, strained spousal relationships, sexual problems, etc.

Dr. Francine Yep

Possible, Not Top 4: Top 4 complications from gonorrhea [gc]: sterility, infectious arthritis, diseased heart valves, meningitis. Gc can spread into your blood and cause septic shock, which can lead to kidney failure & other systemwide problems. Thankfully this doesn't happen often. Also, remember if you get gc, you can get other std's like hiv. Be safe and smart. Use condoms. No love without the glove.

How could a lack of fiber (roughage) in the diet be a cause of colon disease, including colon cancer?

Theories: Of slow bowel activity, build up of bad bacteria creating toxins or toxic environment. And healthy intestinal bacteria with higher fiber diet may cause less colon wall mucosal irritation and less risks for cancer. Also theories of low fat diet and increased exercise lowering colon cancer risks.
