Depends: Three things required to treat infected teeth are antibiotics, removing the cause of the infection and your body's defense mechanisms. An effective antibiotic takes 24 to 48 hours to work, but you may need another medication if this is not reducing the infection.

Depends: It really depends on the severity of the infection and the body's immune system an antibiotic for a mild infection should kick in in 48 hrs.

That depends: They usually take 24-48 hours to reduce the infection and thereby lower your pain. However, antibiotics are only a temporary measure. If you do not have the source of the infection eliminated, both the infection and pain will return shortly after stopping the antibiotic. Antibiotics wont solve your problem. You must see your dentist to have this tooth treated with a root canal or an extraction.
