Depends-see below: Depends on the degree of your pre-surgery swelling ; inflammation, whether you can use prescription strength nsaids or not, whether you try ;keep the hand elevated above your heart ;lastly whether you need ; utilize ot to help reduce the swelling. In majority of patients the swelling goes down in step with the scar/wound maturation over a few months. Nodules in tendons, though may not disappear.
