Can be: This is a very rare complication of adenoid removal. In some people, the adenoid pad at the back of the throat was needed for the palate to close off the nose from the mouth to allow speech to come out from the mouth in a normal way. Some patients have problems closing this area after the adenoid is removed. It can be treated with surgery to lengthen the palate or tighten the closure of the palate.
