Sure, but: At age 28 - you should try to maintain your teeth well and try to keep them for your lifetime. It may be too late to save this tooth, but routine dentistry is an inexpensive way to help prolong your life as studies have shown the people with teeth live longer than those without. You do not want to get dentures!

Yes but why?: Why not save the tooth? Extraction is a poor choice if a dentist determines the tooth is salvageable.

What to do?: Only a dentist who can actually examine you, see x-rays of your teeth ; the condition of the supporting bone ; gums can properly advise you of your treatment options ; suggest the one that is best for you in the long run. You must find a dentist whom you trust ; then follow his\her advice. Many factors must be considered to determine whether to save or extract this tooth. Make a wise decision.
