Not likely: A follicle is located within the ovary, and a gestational sac should be within the uterus. Now an ectopic gestation can be located adjacent to the ovary, but the appearance of a follicle is usually very different from a gestational sac. Follicles have very thin walls, and a gestational sac has very thick walls.
