Call your surgeon: Abdominal distension can occur for some weeks after laparoscopic surgery or can occur from constipation. Call your surgeon for an evaluation.

Yes: You need to recover from the surgery. It generally takes 6 weeks to fully recover. The left side swelling could be from colon distension of bloating from the stomach. See your surgeon just to be safe that everything is ok and to express your concern.
