Is it true that if u've had ur gallbladder removed due to gallstones that u can't take most pain meds such as narcotics as it'd cause some type probs?

Perioperatively: Morphine and other narcotics especially intravenously can make your common (bile and pancreatic) sphincter (valve) go into spasm and cause a problem. Vast majority of the time it's not an issue with oral opiods after surgery.
