A member asked:

Are generalized body aches be related to herniated disc?

No: Herniated disccs would be associated with potential back pain with radiation into an arm if the neck is involved or to the leg if the lower back is involved.. A herniated disc should not be involved with generalized aches and pain.

Only in Fibromyalgia: Disc herniation usually results in nerve impingement which causes shooting pain in the arms or legs affected by the specific nerve. Only scenario this can lead to diffuse pain in an overlap fibromyalgia syndrome where a constant pain generating source like herniated disc can causes a central pain sensitivity state. This leads to hypervigilance and pain awareness, felt throughout the body.
