After 1 yr: Primary infertility is when you have never been pregnant despite having unprotected sex for one year. Secondary infertility is when a couple cannot conceive after having had at least 1 pregnancy in the past. Both female and male infertility have many possible causes, some of which can be treated. Tests and medical history can help identify or rule out certain causes. Talk to your doctor.
