My obgyn recommends not trying to get pregnant for 6 months after accutane. i am 33yo, why do i need to wait longer than a month post treatment?

They are wrong!!...: Your ob/gyn is not correct in their recommendation. Here is a quote from a reputable source:
"females of childbearing potential should not become pregnant during therapy or for 1 month following discontinuation of isotretinoin".
On the day you stop therapy, take a pregnancy test. Then take a test 30 days later. At that point, you are clear to try for pregnancy. Good luck!
