Take it easy: Best plan is to take it easy with foods until your throat recovers. You can have soft foods and/or liquids like soup -- making sure the temperature is tolerable. Unless you have severely damaged your throat, its mucosal lining should heal fairly quickly (within days). In the meantime, advil or aleve (naproxen) may help. Salt water gargles (don't swallow!); warm herbal teas. Stay hydrated.
