Depends: Metoprolol is a type of medication called a beta-blocker; these medications block adrenaline so part of what they do is slow your heart rate. If your hr is abnormally low, your dose might need to be adjusted. Now, if the reason you are on the medication was an abnormal hr to begin with and it is still present you might need an increase of the med. Consult with your doctor.

Unclear: Metoprolol is used for heart disease and high blood pressure. It commonly lowers the heart rate and that is precisely what doctors expect and hope it will do. As long as the heart rate lowering is not too severe, there is nothing to worry about.
