My 5 1/2 year old daughter has mild asthma and allergies, today she got the flu mist, she's starting to cough, is that a side effect?

BRONCHIAL ASTHMA: Attacks of asthma can be anytime by coughing episodes without wheezing. She can use her inhaler to abort it. It is not a flu mist reaction.

Possibly: Asthma in a kid is one reason to avoid flu mist.It is a living vaccine that triggers a slight inflammatory response to enter the circulation through the lung tissue. I have had patients at a similar age have their first and only asthma attack (and hospitalization) within 48hrs of the flumist.I no longer stock the material in my office.
