Possible to see: And equally possible to miss , just like a picture as in chest xray some ribs will be out focus , you need rib xrays , scans .And special studies

Probably would: Most cancers seen within the bone originate from other places. These are called metastatic disease. Many of these lesions are lytic, they eat away the bone. These changes can be seen on an x-ray provided they are large enough to be seen by a radiologist. Sarcomas (soft tis) can arise within the bone but would be less likely. Many of these tumors have very characteristic appearances on xrays.

Yes : Most of the time it will show an abnormality. But a physical exam, history, imaging test and a lot of times a biopy for tissue diagnosis is needed. Pain in the affected bone the most common complain in patients.

Yes: Primary tumors such as Ewings sarcoma with bone destruction and asociated soft tissue mass can occur in ribs and be detected. Metastatic disease involving ribs with bone destruction can be identified
