A member asked:

How does azathioprine effect the liver? they did bloods test and somthing rised a bit to do with myliver

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Toxicity : Azathioprine can cause self limiting increases in liver function tests for which nothing needs to be done. However, the medication can also cause acute and chronic toxicities and depending on how long a patient is taking the drug, can manifest with liver scarring and drainage issues (cholestasis). I recommend having your liver function tests tested several times over the next year or so.
