Pay to detect early: Skin cancers can take on many forms depending on the type of cancer....Pigmented vs. Skin colored, ulcerating vs smooth, pearly vs scaling, w/ or w/o prominent blood vessels. Your dermatologist's job is to catch a skin cancer early. For melanoma, early treatment=chance of cure. Once melanoma spreads, survival drops way off. Mention your financial concerns to your md, but keep the appts.
