Accutane: Accutane may cut down on future skin cancers if you are prone to them. They do nothing to treat existing skin cancers. The medication only works while you are on it. Shortly after you stop the medication, you are no longer protected from skin cancer. This form of therapy is seldom used because its effectiveness is modest at best.
