What are some guidelines for evaluating the safety and efficacy of a new fitness plan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Great question!: Great to think about this! always happy to hear when someone's interested in fitness. First of all, be sure your doctor clears you for engaging in a new fitness plan. Explain it to him, to be sure that it will not be too stressful on the heart, knees, hips, etc. Too much exercise is as bad as too little exercise. Focus on increasing strength and endurance, and maintaining a good wt for age. :).
