Yes: It's normal to retain water after any surgery. The volume depends on magnitude of surgery. The more extensive the surgery, more fluid the body will hold on to. This is temporary for most people. In 1-2 weeks body will get rid of it. If not, call ur surgeon.

Yes: There's commonly swelling in the lower portion of the tummy after this procedure, especially if liposuction was performed simultaneously. This can persist for about 3-4 weeks. Sometimes a problem called a seroma can also occur. Check with your surgeon about your concerns.
