unsure of question: It sounds as if you were prescribed Morphine Sulfate in a max dose of 5mg a day by your physician. Please restate question if this is inaccurate.

None: There is no ceiling dose for morphine, as long as a patient tolerates it well and has no adverse side effects which includes increased pain, the morphine can be continually increased by a doctor. DO NOT increase the dose of morphine without consulting your doctor. It is not only dangerous, but could break the trust in your doctor-patient relationship.

Depends: It depends if you are on narcotics and are narcotic tolerant, I have seen patients on morphine more than 100 mg three times a day.
