Long time.....: Gerd can lead to bronchospasm which, in turn, leads to cough. The cough will likely continue until the getd is adequately treated. If the cough continues after that, then there may be other factors contributing to the cough including bronchospasm from another etiology, post-nasal drip, etc. So, if you are still coughing, see your doctor again. If you smoke, you need to quit!
