Sinus problem?: If the pain is in cheeks or above eyebrows this could represent sinus issue. See ear nosy and throat doctor for exam, and treatment.

Sinus pressure: The added air pressure which occurs as a plane descends causes "squeeze" on air spaces such as sinuses and middle ears. "equalizing" (eg: holding your nose and pressurizing, or popping, your ears) early and often during descent is the key.

Sinus Pressue: This is normal for many as the airplane cabin is pressurized air. You will need to "pop" your ears or equalize them.
