It certainly: Sounds like anxiety. Consider meeting with a psychologist to work on CBT and/or having medication prescribed for anxiety.

Anxiety/panic attack: Sounds like you're describing anxiety and/or panic attack. You've already been prescribed Xanax (alprazolam), although I can't see why, which is a highly addictive benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety. Tell your Family Doc about your concerns. Get complete evaluation and ask about referral for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is very effective w/o side effects & addiction.

My take: I suspect that you are experiencing an emotional reaction to the takeoff and landing, and this can readily be deconditioned via biofeedback or EMDR training. There is NO medical cause that I can conceive to explain your experience.
