Can a pregnant woman (13 weeks) travel in an airplane? i have an unknown cause of severe neutropenia. can the flight harm the baby?

Best ask your doc: In general a flight is not a problem for women this early in pregnancy. However, with your other issues, you should have a working understanding of what you should do if problems arise while you are away from your regular source of care.

Talk to your OB: Talk to your "high risk" obstetrician (ob). I'm not an ob, but usually not a flight issue if okay with ob. Also, the source of "severe" (defined as ANC <500 ?) neutropenia needs to be clarified by a hematologist. First questions would be -- how long in duration, cyclic in nature (eg, every 3 weeks), any increased infectious, famiiy history, prior bone marrow biopsy, and medication use.
