Yes uncommonly: In a postmarketing survey of over 70, 000 patients, 1.19% of patients reported tachycardia associated with the use of zoloft (sertraline).

Some had preexisting hypertension, depression, pain and other possible contributing factors.  All resolved with discontinuation of the agent if persistent.  Please make your prescribing physician aware of your issue.  Good luck.

i took 10mg of propranolol 4 hours ago and i take 25mg of zoloft (sertraline) everyday. is this combination okay? would sleeping after taking the propranolol be okay, or would my heart rate decrease too much?

Zoloft (sertraline) &amp; Propanolol: Unless you are hypersensitive, or have any of those catechol amine (like Epinephrine) dysfunction from any medical condition, it does not seem, under ordinary circumstances, that taking 10 mg of Propanolol while on standing 25 mg Sertraline, even if you go to bed.

psychiatrist stopped my celexa 20mg about 12 days ago suddenly after 15 years. he started me on zoloft 40mg the next day. it was awful until day five i felt better but heart rate and bp began to increase 15-25  points syst previous control on meds?

Serotonin mishap?: A more gradual taper of the Celexa may have been easier to tolerate.  Shouldering one gradually down and the other up usually works better, i.e., Celexa down to 10, and more gradual increase/addition of Zoloft,  25 for 10 days then stop Celexa and increase Zoloft to 50.
After that many years and abrupt cessation you may be experiencing serotonin discontinuation from the Celexa - despite the Zoloft

29/f resting heart rate is always around 100-102. what could cause this? i am on xanax (alprazolam) t/d .5 mg and zoloft 50mg. not overweight. little exercise.

Ask Dr: It "might" be normal for you, but more likely is a feature of your anxiety. If you've removed caffeine, energy drinks, tobacco, cold medicines, etc., from your life and hr still up near 100, should get checked by your dr for med mgmt, vs blood test for thyroid or other issues.

i have experienced anxiety i was taking lexapro (escitalopram) but it caused rapid heart rate and now am on zoloft 25 and still same problem any good med for anxiety?

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

my heart rate is 52.  i also take zoloft (sertraline). sertraline and bradycardia can both induce long qt and torsades de pointes. how can i mitigate my risk?

Not taking it.: The newer antidepressants I do not feel put you at higher risk as the older tricyclic antidepressants. However, if you've noticed a change in your heart rhythm since on the Zola, the only way to mitigate this is to not take it and switch to something different

my doctor recently increased my zoloft from 50mg to 100mg. i just called 911 because my heart rate is 120+ the paramedic told me my vitals are fine and i dont need to go the er so i am laying down. is this a normal response to an increase of zoloft?

: Zoloft can increase the heart rate, especially when the dose was abruptly doubled. That side effect is most likely benign sinus tachycardia which should gradually settle down. Don't take any more Zoloft until you get instructions from your prescribing MD. If your heart rate remains over 120 or if you're experiencing other uncomfortable effects,  I recommend being checked in the emergency room

i'm on a beta blocker and an arb for high blood press. and high heart rate. can i take zoloft (sertraline)? or will it cause arrythmia or qt prolongation?

started zoloft 50mg 3 days ago. since then, i've been getting weird cold feelings in my legs and feet. also when i try to sleep, i feel like i'm sinking and get cold and my heart rate increases. is this common with zoloft?

: Starting a medication like Zoloft that helps to correct neurotransmitters can have mild side effects while your body gets accustomed to the medication. Allow at least 2-3 weeks for the mild side effects to settle, and 4-6 weeks for the med to have an effect on the neurotransmitters.
