how painful is it after wisdom extraction?

Depends: With any surgical procedure there is some level of discomfort or pain.  The unknown variable is how each person perceives and responds to pain and discomfort.  One patient may have four impacted wisdom teeth removed and take nothing stronger than an otc med and never skip a beat, while another patient may have a single erupted tooth removed, require strong pain meds and be in bed for several days.

Ear ache ?: After extractions pain is usually localized at the sites usually pain meds are only needed first 24 - 48 hours.
 Did you explain your symptoms and get a post op check with the dentist / surgeon? They might recommend cold compress or muscle relaxant or a temporary bite appliance also they may have noticed you had restricted TMJ prior to the extractions or that it was a very stressful extraction.

Kind of.: Dry socket usually becomes symptomatic at around the 3 day mark...But it gets is start when a good blood clot fails to form in the extraction site on the day of surgery.

It COULD: ...so take it easy on the site with that brush, but at 1 weeks everything should be healing nicely.  Brush around but not in the socket yet, gargle instead.

Fess up: Tell your Dentist what you did.  That enables Dentist to concentrate on areas of possible problem.  Never withhold information from any of your doctors

Evaluation needed: This is definitely not normal and needs to be evaluated by a dentist. The pain could be related to the extraction, possibly a recurring infection or more likely from an adjacent tooth. You need to see your dentist to be evaluated and treated accordingly.

Sometimes they can erupt into functional cleanable positions and require no treatment.  Sometimes problem potential is borderline and requires active observation.  See a wisdom tooth specialist, an Oral Surgeon, for most informed opinion.

Depends: If you have the health to have general anesthesia, you will awaken to have the teeth gone and the healing should be the only source of discomfort.  Discuss with your doctor prior to the procedure.

$200 - $5000: The cost depends on how difficult the tooth will be to extract.  If the tooth has erupted, it will cost less to extract than if it is still under the gums.  The dentist will take an xray and give you an estimate before the procedure.  Here's a tip:  keep an ice cooler in your car with ice bags.  Put them on your face as soon as you get in car.
