Side effect: Antwanj,

Normally side effect from this type of medication will resolve within 2-3 days of stopping the medication.  That being said, chest pain is not a typical side effect from this medication and should be evaluated by your medical provider.

8 hour half life: The half life is 8 hours, so within several days there should be hardly any active metabolites of this medicine in your system.  Best wishes.

Side effect: Dry mouth is a very common side effect of any anti-histamine however chest pain is not. You should see your doctor about the chest pain.

have taken zyrtec for over a year. recently added a claritin d 12 hour. got horrible dry mouth. stopped both about 40 hours ago. noticed having to strain really hard to urinate about 12 hr ago. is this a side effect too?

: Antihistamines and decongestants can reduce urine formation and mouth mucus. I would use one or the other of these products but not both. Within a couple days off both, your system should return to baseline. If not discuss this with your doc.

Most persons do not engage in mouth breathing on a normal basis. Mouth breathing can cause your mouth and throat to dry out, causing discomfort and tooth decay as the normal balance of saliva and its antimicrobial effects is disrupted.

See below : Benicar is the brand name and olmesartan is the generic name or version of Benicar. In general generic versions contain the same ingredients, are equally effective, and have the same potential side effects as the Brand names but generics are noticeably less costly in most instances.
