Common Side Effect: Standard add/adhd medications all cause drying of the salivary system and can result in a variety of oral problems, like increased cavities and gum infections. Sip water all day, brush and floss more frequently every day and see your dentist on regular basis.

Many meds do this: A side effect of many medications is dry mouth. This can cause discomfort as well as cavities. You should avoid sugary and acidic foods and drinks. Chew sugar free or xylotol gum to stimulate saliva, use alcohol free mouthwash, and try biotene products to help your mouth feel better. Regular dental care is important. Your dentist can prescribe Fluoride or mi paste to prevent cavities.
