when i'm thirsty i drink water, juice etc. but sometimes i just become thirsty again a few minutes later i even get up at night to get a drink of water?

Glucose and urine: If you have other symptoms esp urinating a lot, have your glucose levels checked and urine specific gravity also.  Diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus can cause excessive thirst.

my daughter seem to have never ending thirst she is always thirsty.  it this normal she only drink milk and water and very rarely juice ?

Drinking a lot: Depends on how old/how big you are.    So try to get a handle on how many ounces she is drinking compared with how much she weighs.

I'm confused: You say you feel like you need to drink more fluid, yet you say you are not thirsty. I'm not sure how those co-exist together. Dry lips can be an isolated finding, so it does not absolutely indicate dehydration if they are dry. They can be dry from dry/cold exposure, excessive licking of lips, too much salt in diet, irritation from make-up or glosses. Also, drink water, not juice!

why does only orange juice quench my thirst since i caught a cold? i doubt water isn't hydrating me, i just still feel thirsty when i drink it.

Hydration: Water is more than adequate for hydration. Your body is craving sugar if you can only feel satisfied with orange juice. Do you have any medical conditions such as diabetes or kidney failure? The more sugary drinks you consume, the more fluid you will lose (hyper osmotic ).

Find a way: Asking a doctor to allow you to make a bad choice is not reasonable. Set a reminder on your smart-phone or prepare the night before bottles of water to drink is the way to go. If you don't drink enough fluids, you increase your risk for kidney stones, bad breath, constipation, etc.  Put a rubber band on your wrist to remind yourself to drink, but find a way to get at least 50 ounces a day of fluid.

Caffeine effect: The caffeine in coffee is a pretty potent diuretic. It can dehydrate you easily. So you feel thirsty from that. Caffeine also stimulates thirst directly in the brain. Hot feet reflects a blush. Caffeine can do this also. If you are adding sugar to your coffee, then this can cause thirst as well, particularly if your blood sugar spikes. If you have early diabetes, hot feet could reflect neuropathy

Not too much: You are young and hopefully healthy--there is no such thing as too much water unless it is gallons and gallons.10-12 cups is not too much.if you are unusually thirsty all the time get your blood sugar checked to be safe.

Thirst: You should have your blood checked for signs of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. If it is positive then you might have an issue with your thirst center in your brain.. See your doctor please.

? diabetes: Polyuria, polydypsia (thirst) , vision changes, slow healing wounds.

Get screened, esp if you have a family history , or are over weight.

Dehydration signs: As we age, our thirst becomes less reliable as an indicator of dehydration, which can sneak up on you in hot weather. A good way to gauge adequate hydration is to look at your urine. When you are well hydrated, the urine will be almost colorless.
