Nasal congestion : Need more information but sounds like allergies so if you’re doing ok with OTC allergy medication than ok

Possible TMJ Problem: Pain in front of the ear, or sensation of pain in the ear with negative findings with your ears could very likely be due to a TMJ problem.  If you are experiencing popping or clicking, difficulty opening and eating you should be evaluated by a dentist for a possible TMJ disorder.

can i put drops of rubbing alcohol into my ears to cure an earache?

Accepted Answer

No: Without knowing if the ear drum is intact or not, i would not recommend placing alcohol drops in the ear blindly.  Most often we use use alcohol as a drying agent in the maintenance treatment of swimmer's ears and not as an acute treatment.

i earache it keeps coming and going. i have given  up smoking. and also i have dry skn on and inside my ears iam in pain please could somebody help ?

Otalgia: Otalgia is the name for an ear ache.  If there is no hearing loss, then an ear infection is unlikely.  The most common cause of ear ache in the absence of infection is related to the jaw joint or the jaw muscles, so called 
TMD.  Other causes of referred pain to the ear are diseases of the throat, and or larynx and finally, diseases of the cervical spine.

can carbide peroxide damage your ears? my ears felt like they constantly needed to be popped, no pain or discharge beforehand. now i have an earache?

Unlikely: The drops should not cause a problem.  If you do a lot of flushing, or put instruments in your ears, that can cause problems.   
Popping ears often mean eustachian tube dysfunction or allergic rhinitis.   Try otc Claritin ( generic is fine, ) or any of those allergy like meds.   Nasal steroids ( nasacort) is now also over the counter and can help.   This is not related to your earwax problem!

Many possibilities..: An exam will be your best way to determine the cause...  pressure from fluid/allergies?  TMJ?  Dental issue?  There are many reasons for ear pain and an exam will give you the answer fairly quickly...

my ears feel plugged and muffled and i am now extremely sensitive to sound. hearing even footsteps hurts like crazy.   is this a normal earache?

No: An earache means your ear actually hurts. Does your ear hurt? Are you more sensitive to internal sounds such as that occurs when chewing or hearing your own footsteps rather than of others? If that is the case and your ear does not hurt, when considering your other symptoms, it sounds like you may have accumulated fluid behind your ear drum, what we call serous otitis media.

i have a horrible earache. there is a constant ringing in both of my ears and theyre always popping when i swallow or yawn. why?

Various reasons : The popping is from your eustacian tube adjusting air pressure. A decongestant can help immensely.  The underlying condition could be an ear infection.  You need to be examined by your doctor.

TMJ: The TMJ pain or dental pain is often referred to the ear. Discuss this possibility with your physician.

Be examined: With those symptoms you should see an ear nose and throat surgeon to sort out the cause. This is not normal. All the best.
