i have white spots all over the back of my mouth and on my uvula. they just randomly appeared when i woke up this morning. what could this be?

Strep throat: Strep throat is the most likely possibility.  Regardless of cause this is something that definitely needs to be evaluated by your medical doctor. Do not put this off, please see them asap.

Reaction: could be allergic to certain foods or meds.,or as a symptom of a disease ,
If it did not go away within 24/48 hours see a doctor ASAP

Sore throat or not?: If sore throat, go see your Family Doc to discuss testing for Strep. If not, this may be normal for you.

white spots tonsils: Could be strep or infectious mononucleois or other.  Bet see walk -in clinic and get checked.

: Oral thrush, candidiasis, is a fungal infection, an overgrowth of Candida yeast in the mouth. It affects all ages, including adults. While commonly seen in infants and individuals with weakened immune systems, it can still occur in healthy adults. Common symptoms of thrush is a sore throat, the presence of white spots or patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, or other areas of the mouth.

tonsils swell and have white spots everytime i get a cold. strep test comes back sometimes positive and other times negative. is this normal?

Can be: You may have pitted tonsils that collect debris, causing  white spots.  This may happen independent of catching the strep bacteria or a viral pharyngitis (which is actually much more common than strep), and it can sometimes happen when you are not even sick.  If it is causing you to miss work or school a lot, you may want to see an ENT to discuss getting your tonsils out.

Determine Cause: Are the white spots an intrinsic color of the enamel demineralized enamel, or calculus? Until we know what caused them, it is hard to advise you if they can easily be removed. A local dentist, however, can examine the teeth and let you know what treatment can be rendered. I doubt there is anything you personally can do to eradicate them.

Throat Culture: You should see doctor to have throat culture for beta strep infection and if positive to be treated with antibiotic.

i have white spots on my tonsils, but no fever and i'm not feeling sick. i had a strep test done 2 weeks ago and it came back negative.?

Normal  tonsils: Adult tonsils have crypts, which make little tonsil stones. These are the white spots. This is normal.  If they are really irritating, an antibiotic might help to settle them down.  If that doesn't work sometimes we do a tonsillectomy.  In most cases if i describe the surgery to someone with a concern about these, they opt to leave it alone.
