Old scar: If actually on the surface of the cornea, it could be an old scar from a foreign body or an infection.  Are you sure it is on the cornea, as white spots can appear on the iris which may look in the mirror as if it was on the cornea.

Corneal scar: In the absence of any visual symptoms or pain, a white spot on your cornea is typically nothing to worry about.  It could be from previous injury or infection or merely aging changes of the cornea.  You should see your ophthalmologist to determine the cause and if any treatment is needed.

Pingueculum: It's probably a pingueculum, particularly if it is painless.  These usually occur in the inner and/or outer white part of the eye. May be yellowish and occasionally can become inflamed. Other possibilities could include a cyst, scar, foreign body, calcium, limbal dermoid, tumor and others. If concerned see an eye md.

Pinguecula: Could be a conjunctival cyst, that can develop from allergies or a pinguecula, asmall, white-yellowish bump on the conjunctiva near the cornea. It can appear on either side of the cornea, but occurs more often on the nose (nasal) side. The growth may increase in size over time.  Go to your eye doctor for a diagnosis.

my optician said that she found a white dot on my cornea (in the right eye). she refered me  to an eye doctor but said that its probably nothing. my plica semilunaris/caruncle is inflamed in that eye and i have some vision problems. is it serious?

: You should see your eye doctor and get evaluated for dry eyes. There are treatments available for dry eyes, if diagnosed. You should also limit your screen time on phones, computers, tablets, etc. to decrease eye strain. You should also apply warm compresses to your eyes twice daily and wash your eyes with warm water and mild soap. This will help limit inflammation. See your eye doctor-hood luck!!

Need to be seen!: A white dot one the cornea overlying the iris typically is an ulcer.  You need to be seen urgently. And have it looked at and treated by an ophthalmologist.  A delayed treatment can lead to scarring and other devastating consequences.

Pingueculum : An exam would be helpful. A visual is worth a thousand words. It could be a pingueculum, a phlectenule,  vascular tumor(angioma), nevus, teratoma, dermoid, granuloma, papilloma, conjunctival neoplasm. Lots of possibilities an for reassurance, see an eye md for an exam.
