Cause: The specific bacterial cause of filaria in your father's case should be delineated and then empirical antibiotics can be prescribed. Some cases need to be treated with local surgical debasement if the antibiotics are not enough. I would hope he can see his MD during the 21 days to check for improvement or worsening. Not all: High fever is not always present in people dying. It is likely if the pt has an infection. Fever can be caused by tumors, allergies, antibiotics, autoimmune disorders.

my 9 year old grandson ran a high fever for a few days last week with no other symptoms other than no appetite.  tylenol reduces the fever and it went away after a couple of days.  he came home from school yesterday with 101 fever that quickly went away.

Time to see doc: For fevers over 100-101 that last more than 4 or 5 days, i strongly recommend seeing his doc.  Usually, the fevers with uncomplicated viral illnesses like colds go away within 3-4 days, so the fact that he had high fevers last week and now this week is more concerning.

Possible virus: Ebstein bar virus(infectios mononuleosis) can give you a sore throat and a high fever.You need to be checked for that infection and strep or adenovirus infection incase your quick strep test is false negetive.

Depends: Looking at your previous question about Opana it could be opioid withdrawal if you were recently switched and the opiate dose prescribed for Opana was not high enough.  Are you in the midst of changing chronic pain meds perhaps? Otherwise, see your doctor and get checked for possible infection or early sepsis.

: Do others agree your looks have changed significantly? Have a thorough medical assessment by a specialist in internal medicine. If no definite pathology is found, I assume your pelvic issues are resolved.  I believe you'll be reassured greatly. If not consult a psychologist to fully understand what's bothering you about your looks especially if others don't see major changes in you.

See your doctor!: Fever can signify many different illnesses and usually indicates infection and or inflammation. Figuring out what is wrong requires a complete review of other symptoms (cough, sore throat,  viral infection. See your primary care physician diarrhea, burning with urination, rashes, etc.) a physical exam and often blood work and testing! high fevers often but not always suggest  a viral infection..
