Ct scan: Mostly the general surgeons and ob/gyn will order this type of ct scan.Also pcp can do this as well if they suspect any abdominal or pelvic pathology.

Need more info.: Trauma, infection and malignancy (cancer) are the most common reasons to do all three at the same time. Doing the test doesn't mean you have the diseases, but the doctors are usually concerned about those three things when they order that set of tests.

Arm vein: The contrast is injected in an arm vein and the contrast is distributed into the arterial and venous system of the head.

Can.: Oral contrast can cause constipation which could lead to those symptoms.  Should resolve with time as long as the CT did not demonstrate something that could interfere. Can use a laxative if necessary and not contraindicated.

: Yes. Body organs can change rapidly if there is trauma or significant infection. In the case of a pelvic CT, bowel content changes can also show up on the scan. Please follow up with the physician who ordered the test to discuss any new findings.

Variable: The actual reading time for a ct depends on how complicated the findings are, but around 20-30 minutes. However, the imaging center may perform many many scans per day, so it may take a while before your study is read. Turn around time for a routine exam is usually a day or two. Again, this varies from one imaging center to the next. The report is then sent to the doctor that ordered the ct.

hello, i did on 27 april a chest ct scan 64 after one month, 27 may , i did an abdomen+pelvic ct scan 64. is it dangerous for my health?

Yes.. But: CT scan has much higher dose of radiation than other immaging methods including plain X ray. It is now trend to avoid it unless absolutly necessary or it is an emergency. Than we have to weight risk and benefits like any other procedure in healthcare. If you needed it is done - whtever outcome it is follow up with your docotr. For future - better avoid it. Again depends on reasons doing it.

just recently had a ct scan of the lungs with dye and now my doc has ordered mri of my spine with dye. what are the risk of too much dye in system?

No: The dye as it's called is gadolinium and it shows up and gives very good outline of the areas studied with no scatter artifact. It is excreted fairly rapidly. The tests may not be able 2 b done the same day, 2 allow the contrast 2 clear, but no risk that i know of.
