Safe/short lasting: There are pro's and con's to every procedure. The main risk with any injectable fillers are lumpiness, over-correction, under-correction, needing to repeat procedure periodically. There is a rare risk of injecting the filler into a blood vessel, which can lead to blood flow compromise. With blunt needles, or microcannulas, this risk is reduced.  An advantage of Restylane (dermal fillers) that it can be dissolved.

Sure: It's advisable to allow a little time for any swelling after your treatment to resolve before tanning. If you were to have sun exposure directly after injectibles it wouldn't cause a major problem, but may exacerbate any swelling related to your procedure.

Difference: Botox works mainly by temporarily inactivating muscles of the forehead and areas of the face thereby reducing deep facial wrinkles. Restylane (dermal fillers) is a filler which is directly injected in to the wrinkles until fullness is achieved.

can i go tanning after getting restylane injections? i'm trying to get a lot done before my wedding and am getting restylane injections to reduce my wrinkles. i also need to fit in a few tanning sessions, and was wondering if it would be okay to get a sun

Tanning : Tanning will not affect your Restylane (dermal fillers) injections but it will affect you skin long term.  Tanning (sun or tanning beds) are not good for your skin.  Sun exposure (and probably tanning beds as well) are major conributors of collagen and elastin loss which will make you look older.  They also contribute to skin cancer formation.

Usually yes: It will depend on the type of blood thinner you are on. If it is Coumadin (warfarin) then be sure your INR isn't too high. Aspirin and plavex are not as big of a concern.  With any blood thinner you might have some increased bruising with filler injections but this is usually mild.

Fuller lips: This produce can be used in several areas of the lip. You can enhance the boarder where the red lip meets the flesh colored skin defining the shape a bit more. You can inject into the area where the pink moist surface meets the dry surface this will plump the lip. Lips swell and are painful to inject you may need a dental block for pain. Expect swelling for a few days

1ml restylane lip filler for the first time from a dr. post 2weeks still lumpy and tender if massaged. is this normal ? also if the lumps are permanent,will they dissolve completely over the next 12 months back to normal without dissolving injections?

Temporary: Lumps will go down, but it might take several months.  Dissolving injections (hyalurinidase) are not necessary unless the lumps are large and you want them gone now.  Tenderness will resolve on its own.

Consultation: Only through examination of the surface issues you have would an md be able to advise you as to whether Restylane (dermal fillers) or another product, or no filler at all might be indicated. For sagging and gravity problems a surgical lift might be indicated. For animation lines a neurotoxin might be needed.

Unlikely but ....: An allergic reaction to Restylane (dermal fillers) is very unlikely although possible.  Should this occur, redness and swelling typically occurs until all injected material has been degraded and absorbed. This occurs in very few people (less than 1 in 50, 000).
