i am currently going through chemotherapy and my blood work yesterday showed that there are immature cells with the following info:
metamyelocytes:	3%
myelocytes:	4%
wbc: 5.8
what does this mean and is this something i should be concerned with?

Clinical context: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you were not being treated with chemo, it would not have been of concern.

when do you worry most about my blood counts following a chemotherapy treatment?

Variable: Of course, we look at them around the time you get chemotherapy to make sure it is safe to treat you but with most chemotherapies - blood counts drop the most around 7 to 12 days after treatment. Since there are many different types of therapy, our health care team will tell you when it is the most vulnerable time and many times we shedule lab tests around this.

my wife just had her third chemo treatment  & last night during her vomiting she threw up blood, not like coffee grinds but like blood. what should we

Vomiting blood: I hope your wife is doing better today. How much blood are you talking here? Is that something that mixed with the emesis or saliva or bright red blood? Sometimes, due to significant vomiting, irritation can happen or a little blood vessel can rupture and can cause a little bleeding, however- i suggest you to d/w her oncologist -1. To let them know about the blood and to ask for better nausea med.

i am 25.i am undergo mini -ivf traetment.today cd6 the u/s and blood work says growing slowing.is everything ok?will doctor do egg retrieval on cd 14

Varies: that depends on your doctor. natural and mini ivf are different. it sounds like there is one egg. it is not ready yet. but likely will be ready in a few days. so as long as the egg grows that is ok!

39/m here currently on trt/pellet therapy. blood work came back with all counts in range except absolute monocytes at 1176 and appear to account for 24% of total wbc. how bad is this and what should my next steps be? want to rule out cancers asap?

Accepted Answer

: It is not malignant if the monocyte morphology appears normal and the only abnormality is high monocyte percentage. This abnormality has nothing to do with TRT, you just need to have another CBC with differentials in 2-3 months.

my mom is going through chemo therapy and her blood counts are to low. can i give to her my own platelets?

Yes, if needed: Platelets can be donated by any family member but are only used if the platelet counts go down drastically like close to 10, 000(sometimes used for counts under 20, 000).

i am on chemo therapy, my white blood cell count was low and i could not receive the chemo this week. i am very yellow at the moment, inside of my eyes as well. what could this be, can it be the epres ?

said it went to stage 1. no blood/pain but now thickened bladder wall?

Here are some…: Congratulation for experiencing favorable response to chemo &amp; radiotherapy for stage IV cancer.  The bladder wall thickening with subsequent more urinary frequency is entirely expected. I'm sure your doctor will instruct you how to cope with it. Of note, despite favorable response, a lifelong follow-up it is still needed. For more individual detail, ask your urologist &amp; oncologists.  Best wish…

i was told i have hypothyroidism but it was never followed up on could the blood work be wrong and i'm actually fine?

Possible: Repeat the tests. Ask your doctor to check tpo antibodies. If it shows hypothyroidism and tpo antibodies are positive, you have thyroid disease and should be treated.  If all are normal, then only follow up needed. Good luck.

my wbc is 13.8 two months in a row. i had more blood work done this week. not feeling bad in anyway. what could be wrong?

Good question: A WBC that is elevated represents that your body's responce to something.  Most often it is an infection.  Sometimes the infection does not have symproms.  Sometimes your body is responding to non-infectious inflamations.  This is why your physician did a good physical and history.  That is why you continue testing.  Of course it may be abnormal production/abnormal cells/ leukemia.  Continue eval.
