Tylenol (acetaminophen): Yes, if you have a headache it is safe for you to take 2 regular tylenol (acetaminophen) tablets.  It is concerning if you take multiple doses of tylenol (acetaminophen) in one day.

See below: From my point of view as an allopathic physician, i don't recommend any otc meds except tylenol (acetaminophen) for infant.  The i don't know if there have been any controlled studies looking at the efficacy and safety of the ingredients in hylands 4 kids cold and cough, therefore, i can't say whether they are safe.

Yes: This is just fine just be careful about how much tylenol (acetaminophen) you get and don't exceed the maximal daily dose.

: Advil is avoided under age 6 mo. (issues of potential kidney toxicity) Afterward I consider it a more dependable fever reducer/pain med.

Accepted Answer

Chance of miscarriag: A fever in and of itself will not make you miscarry.  Tylenol (acetaminophen) is considered to be safe to take during pregnancy.

Grind your teeth??: Have you been told that you grind (at night)your teeth, either by your significant other or your dentist?  How about clenching your teeth during the day?  Could be a contributing factor.

Accepted Answer

If both equally: effective, probably the better choice is the Tylenol/acetominophen. Ibuprofen, in higher doses, can adversely affect the kidneys. It is very important to protect the kidneys especially with high blood pressure. But Tylenol may not be as effective in relieving joint pain. Short term--4 to 5 days-- use of ibuprofen, doses not exceeding those listed on package, is acceptable. Splints also help:)

: Yes, you can do that and we often use this regimen for controlling mild pain. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) 650 -1,000 mg alternating with Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) OTC 200 mg x 2 or 3 tablets every 6 hours as needed.

Ask Dentist: Antibiotic to limit spread of infection may be in order.  Another choice would be to see an Endodontist or Oral Surgeon now.

my 15 month old and 3.5 year old are finally getting their first covid shot here in ontario canada this week. if i give tyelnol or advil right after the vaccine (about 30-40 mins after when we get home) will that affect immunity response?

: These appear to have no effect on the immune response to the vaccines in use.
